Deck of Discernment
A Scripture card deck for prayer, reflection, and lectio divina.
The Deck of Discernment pairs 40 Scripture cards with 10 open-ended reflection prompts (called Clarifiers), so instead of searching for a verse, you draw one, and instead of guessing what it means, you're given a real question to sit with.
What's in the box:
40 Scripture cards, each with a Bible reference and a plain-language reflection, drawn from across both Old and New Testaments
10 Clarifier cards with open, non-leading journaling prompts inspired by the Ignatian Examen
2 instruction cards explaining how to use the deck and how the text was sourced
Every passage paraphrased in original wording and checked against the NABRE (New American Bible Revised Edition), the translation approved for Catholic use in the United States
Who it's for: Catholics building a daily prayer habit, OCIA candidates, anyone drawn to lectio divina or Scripture-based reflection, journalers of any faith background looking for honest prompts, small faith-sharing groups, or anyone who wants Scripture reflection without a screen.
How it works: Draw a Scripture card. Draw a Clarifier card. Let the question turn the passage toward whatever's actually going on in your life today. No fortune-telling, no fixed meanings, just Scripture and an honest question.
